Prizes:
Winners in each category will receive an Apple iPad 2. Runner ups in each category will receive an Apple iPod Touch.


How to Enter
Eligibility:
Entrant must live in Santa Clara or San Mateo County be between the ages of 13 – 18.

Timing:
All entries must be submitted no later than October 1, 2012. Not postmarked by.

How to Enter: 
Administrators, teachers, and politicians all are trying to find ways to make schools better for students. But now its time to hear from students themselves. We want you to share your vision on what a school that engaged, prepared, and inspired students would be like. What are obstacles to learning that schools can get rid of? What issues do schools need to address? What are changes or additions to schools are needed in order for them to become the places of learning you want them to be? Share with us your vision.

The categories are:
Poster Art (visual illustration, graffiti, mixed-media)
Rap/song/spoken word (no more than 3 minutes long)
Video/Animation (no more than 3 minutes long)

All submissions must be original work.

Poster or graffiti art images maybe emailed if they are the following filetypes: .jpg, .jpeg or .gif (please: no file larger than 5mb) Email to: svdebug@gmail.com

Post it:
Video, animation or rap/spoken word performances can be posted  to YouTube or Vimeo. Try and use HD if possible. Email the link to:

Some other considerations:
Street art can be submitted as a photograph or scan, in .jpg, .gif or.jpeg. Please submit entries in the highest resolution possible, if applicable. Video can be shot on a variety of formats – ranging from high end, high def camera to cell phones or consumer cameras but cannot be larger than 100 MB and must be one of the following formats: AVI, MOV, WMV, MP4, MPEG, FLV, 3GP, and 3G2. Entrants can edit video using software on a computer at school, a community center, or at home.
 
Judging: 
Winners will be selected by a panel of local art and media practitioners, as well as an online public voting component. Entries will be judged on the strength of the message, creativity, and the overall impact of the media product.

Winners List: 
Winners will be announced in October 2012. The winning entries will be promoted on Silicon Valley De-Bug and the Silicon Valley Community Foundations sites. Winners will also be profiled by SV De-Bug reporters, and will be presented awards at a community forum.
