We will take action from 8am - 10am in front of the Hyatt Santa Clara
As the women workers of Hyatt Hotels, we work hard and are proud of our work, but we stuggle daily with an employer that injures our bodies, disrespects our rights as mothers, and treats us as if we are disposable. We are outraged that pictures of women workers were affixed to bodies wearing bikinis.
Now we are speaking out to demand respect for all women and their bodies in the workplace.
Taking inspiration from the Clothesline Project, we will put up a clothesline with messages and stories of the dispect women face at work. We invite everyone to share their stories as well.
How to participate: 1) Choose an article of clothing or item that is sybolic of your experience (t-shirt, bikini top, work uniform, maternity clothing, back brace, pain medication, ace bandages, work schedule, etc.)
2) Write or draw about your experience of disrespect on your item.
3) Bring your item to the action on March 8th. We will hang all the items on the clothesline.
4) If you don't have time or materials in advance, don't worry! We will have materials at the action.
