TEN DAY HUNGER STRIKE IN GLENN DYER JAIL

Editor's Note:

Prisoners United in Glenn Dyer Detention Center in Alameda County went on hunger strike back in October in protest of jail conditions, including indefinite solitary confinement. Here's an update from them and why they restarted a ten day hunger strike Dec. 1st.

In solidarity, we appreciated outside support when during the same day Prisoners United advocates held a demonstration outside the Alameda County Board of Supervisors meeting and packed the room.

Although some changes have been made, movement on larger demands to end Indefinite Solitary Confinement and Meaningless Classification Reviews remain dormant.
